Growing up in the Midwest (Kansas City, MO), certain values were instilled upon me. Values such as modesty, integrity, hard work and being straight forward. I’ve had opportunities to live in Ft. Worth, TX, Greenville, SC and now Hutto, TX. I’ve spent the last 26 years employed with The QuikTrip Corporation starting at the age of 18 while attending the University of Missouri-Kansas City, majoring in Accounting, Business Administration and German.
Starting at QuikTrip as a clerk, I quikly learned there was more to running a business than mopping floors. By the time I was 21, I was a Store Manager and was involved in the hiring and managing of 20 plus people along with the store operations. The opportunity to move to DFW and into QT’s Store Development Department came in 2007. Since then, I have closed on over $130,000,000 in real estate transactions involving the purchase of raw land, operating businesses, and sale-leaseback transactions.
I have been involved with many different non-profits and community organizations in the areas that I have lived. Having earned my Eagle Scout at the age of 17, I learned a lot about Servant Leadership. I have continued to be involved in the Boy Scouts of America serving in many positions including Cubmaster, Scoutmaster and District Finance Chair. In the neighborhoods that I have lived in, I have served in various capacities within the HOAs (President, Treasurer, Board Member). I also had the great opportunity to serve as a foundation board member for Langston Charter Middle School.
These experiences have enabled me to learn many things. I have no reservation stating when I do not know the answer or am unfamiliar on a matter, but that drives me to gain that knowledge. For over half of my life, I’ve followed QuikTrip’s core values. Values such as Do the Right Thing, Never Be Satisfied and Focus Long Term are just some of the things that steer me on the many decisions I make in life.
Believe it or not, I’m a bit of an introvert, but if you see me around, don’t be surprised that a simple “Hi” may begin a conversation that will not end. I love living in Hutto with my wife of 19 years and my children. I want to continue fighting for the citizens of this city to ensure the best value for your tax dollar while responsibly growing our town.
